Will the real Caesar please stand up?

This is the question being explored in Alea Iacta Est (translated: The die has been cast), a new European-strategy-meets-American-dice-rolling-extravaganza from Rio Grande Games. In this game designed by Jeffery D. Allers and Bernd Eisenstein, the strategic use of eight colored dice placed on five different buildings in Rome gives each player the opportunity to gain fame points. The player that ends up with the most fame points after five or six rounds of play is proclaimed the true Caesar, the supreme ruler of the Roman Empire.
